I got to know Kenzie this year after meeting her at yoga and bonding over our shared love for super hot, super fast classes, cooking with protein powder, and the joys of banana ice cream (or nicecream as she called it). Over the year I knew her, Kenzie's presence in my life was a welcome joy--from girls’ nights in and texts asking how to cook with random ingredients to zoom calls for our book club and looking for apartments to helping to proofread her college assignments. Oh, and that time she tried to set me up with the hot vegan trainer at her job. 😂
In the winter of 2020, as a result of one of our book club zooms, I decided to get all my yoga friends together to practice during this scary and lonely time. Kenzie was a champion of this group and attended every week, always staying on to chat and connect. Not only was she a joy in my life, she became a joy to our group—The Omie Collective. Her presence brought us laughter and positivity and helped keep us all going through the winter/spring until we took a summer break. I cannot express the sadness of her loss and how much I miss her, but I’m so very glad I got to know her and have her in my life. I know that every time I take a yoga class, practice at home, go on a run or a hike, our girl is with me in spirit, doing what she loved most.
