Gosh I really have so many memories, but one that sticks out to me right now is when we were both in elementary school. We'd make these DIY "face masks" at every sleepover, mostly Mackenzie's recipe, which is as follows:
(In true Kenzie fashion, improvisation and not worrying about the mess are paramount to the success of this recipe.)
Raw Oats, Honey, Neutral Oil, maybe some OJ if we were feeling fancy, probably some peanut butter, chocolate chips? Sure.
Application: Smear onto clean, dry skin and wait for that radiant room illuminating glow.
I look back on these memories fondly because these face masks seemed to actually be the predecessor to her signature no-bake cookie recipe, and a lot of it did end up in our mouths. I'd like to think that these face masks were the testing phase for her soon to be tried and true fan favs. Fast forward about 10 years, I hadn't seen her in a year or longer and she surprised me with a Ziplock baggie full of Kenzie Classics after a shoulder surgery I had. That act of kindness touched me so deeply. Oats, Honey, PB, and all the rest that came after. We didn't end up with glowing skin but Kenz didn't need that to glow.
