Brenda has known PK for longer than we can admit as he was her ski coach at Burke. The Kirwoods are frequent guests to Meadow Lane going back as far as the late 90’s. It is our home away from home. We stayed with PK and Mackenzie for all of Jeff’s Dartmouth reunions and more recently for Clay’s days at Dartmouth. It all started when Mackenzie was 1 or 2 years old. The kids went on hikes, hunted for salamanders, hung on for dear life on the zip line, climbed up to the treehouse, bounced on the trampoline, hit golf balls, watched movies, had sleep-overs, roasting marshmallows with the Morgan boys, barbequing on the deck, and gobbled up delicious meals together. More recently it was all about yoga by the pool, sharing memories, long talks, and of course, the occasional beer pong in the basement of Heorot. We always appreciated and enjoyed our time together with PK and Mackenzie. She put up with us invading their home and sometimes even having our Kirwood kids take over her bedroom! We loved Mackenzie and we are so so sorry that she is gone. She was a bundle of energy, caring, fun and so beautiful. We miss her smile, the twinkle in her eye, her sense of humor and her willingness to open her life to us. This event is so sudden and traumatic. But, we know that she is in a better place and that our her memories will last forever.
